If you are down my way Emily can be spotted the in furthest corner of any car park but even this has not protected her from some pillock with with a trolley. Now for an admission, that what I thought was a sapling covered in ivy turned out to be an old dead fallen down tree, hence a long white scar down her flank. NPinks please help by recomending some soothing balm from your extensive garage collection. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

how deeps the scar, does it go past the clearcoat down to the paint?

or is it a faint scratch just on the surface

If its the latter i have had good results using Auto Glym Super resin polish, Its got fillers into to sort the scratch out and is also will round the edges of the scratch to soften the appearance of the sunlight bouncing back

Also Maguire's Scratch X has had good results on the detailing forum i pop over too

Finish off with a layer of sealant like AG Extra Gloss Protection

PS. AG Scratch Remover is very abrasive and is not recommended by professionals due to this, i have used it on a older car and had to put alot of elbow grease in with SRP to get the gloss back Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for that I will give them a try, as with scratches of this type depth varies, you know whats its like, could not move over, even more paint damaging and if I had reversed even more paint damaging. The scratch is well beyond my original bottle of T Cut purchased before bar codes were invented & requiring white spirit to be added to get any out of the bottle. About time I invested in some car care product! still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi All,

This is my first post. I have had my Freelander 2 since 1st Feb and am loving it, 3500+ fault free miles just wish diesel was cheaper.
I'm looking for sympathy as my car was attacked by a small fence in an Asda car park. It is my wife's fault cause i wanted to go to Tesco's. But it'll be fixed soon. Anyway i'll put some pictures up soon. One Life Live it!

If the fence was in ASDA grounds make a claim for them to foot the repair bill

Unfortunatlely it was a small wooden fence, protecting some bushes, so i have no option other than accepting it.
Ironic thing is that i parked it there because it is far enough away from all the muppets who use other cars as door stops. Needs a complete new passenger front door so waiting for insurance to sort it. One Life Live it!

I know this is supposed to be the 'welcome' thread but I just wanted to inform all Freel2 folks that as from next week I'll be a D3 bod. Caught the green oval disease pretty seriously thanks to the Fl2 an have managed to source an ex demo D3 that matched the spec and budget. Also have to say that the treatment given yesterday at ROCAR Moores in Huddersfield was excellent. The test drive took in almost the whole of Kirklees area with local, urban and Motorway driving all thrown in.
I've enjoyed the Fl2 community and experience good luck to all. I'll pop in occasionally to see what's going on. D3 GS Java Black TDV6 Manual

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi All,

I recently became the proud owner of a FL2 SE TD4 in Stornoway grey with leather, thanks mostly to the posts on this site Smile . I'd been driving an Audi A4 soft top for a few years and wanted something a bit more practical, yet still fun.

After four weeks of having the FL2 I've been very impressed, and have had no problems whatsoever. Fuel economy and CO2 is significantly better than the Audi and the quality of the finish internally is comparable. The driving position is a LOT better, and overall, after taking time to get used to driving a diesel again, I prefer it. Very Happy

Covered storage could be better Confused , but I'm planning to investigate whether I can get my hands on the covered box from the HSE central console as an aftermaket fit.

Thanks everyone for great advice and information! Thumbs Up '08 FL2 TD4 SE Manual - Stornoway Grey

Hi Andy4

Welcome to the forum

There are a couple of option on covered storage, either a LR sliding cover which can be bought from your dealer or nick at yeovil LR who should be able to give discounts for members.

The other option is a arm rest storage box which are often on eBay along with the clear side indicators Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

npinks,

Thanks. I checked out one of the other threads and saw a pic of the sliding cover storage compartment. I think that will fit the bill. I'm going to order one from my dealer. I'm guessing it's pretty straight forward to fit and will simply slot in to the console.

I can see there was quite a bit of interest so will post once I've got it in.

Thanks again '08 FL2 TD4 SE Manual - Stornoway Grey
