i think there is a forum member on here that is one of the chosen

maybe he can shed light on how it works? i assume some one posts a question and the get a email to tell them and can respond accordingly

But to me the answers seem very corporate, are they censored or something before been posted for view Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Can't find a clutch failure question in there anywhere Confused I would imagine the 'chosen few' and their ridiculous website have censorship, and most of the questions seem to be 'innocent' ones with very little criticism.

Damn it's fugly Laughing

because its a owners based they will not have access to the tech answers, if you asked the clutch question, they would have to tell you to speak to your local dealer regarding this, so far I haven't seen any answers from LR themselves

From what i have read so far, You'll get answers like

"I don't have a freelander II so you have to ask someone else"
"My car hasn't had a issue"
"Every car has a clutch or two"
"My defenders been great" Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I am very surprised to read that it is connected to JLR. The T&C clearly state so. Given that it's semi-official, why is almost every question answered the same, ie 'dunno mate''?

Its not intuitive at all, however, I think that many of us are possibly missing the point of it, it's NOT a forum, it's designed to answer questions you may have regarding any issues with your vehicle, hopefully they will be answered satisfactorily.
More importantly perhaps for LR is the real point may lie behind the scenes in giving Land Rover direct access to problems that are occurring and also a valuable e-mail database of owners who they can target.

Certainly early days for it and it won't replace what we have here and it will be interesting to monitor its progress.

Just my thoughts .....

I don't think we have indicated that it is a Forum, all we have indicated is that it is a mess. It would be better served as a text only site of FAQ's, it needs to unravel itself and make it clear exactly what it hopes to achieve.

The concept is good and any link between manufacturer and the owner of its product can only benefit both parties, but 'gawd' it needs redoing from the bottom up.

I was wondering if people were expecting it to be a forum, given its name but your right about the interface, lords help us if they design the next cars like that Laughing

“How do I reply to your answers ?”

I'm sure someone will be along with a better answer soon, but Talk LAND ROVER is not like a typical forum allowing 'threads' and is more an ask a question and get some answers resource...hope that helps.

You can't you have to ask another question, that the way the powers that be want it to work, it stops threads getting derailed and running on into dozens of pages which people won't want to scroll through

All they need is a mod with a red pen Laughing

Haha, you've certainly made your mark with the red pen. No matter where on the internet I browse now, if there's writing in red I immediately think you've been and done your work.

You've left a lasting impression Laughing
