Might sound daft but give your LR Dealer a call, they are quite competitive on tyre prices and include a vehicle health check if you buy from tem. My local Dealer is also guaranteeing to beat Kwik Fit.

Also with Kwik Fit, the price quoted on the phone is significantly more than the internet price.

Also have a look at (in no particular order)
blackcircles
event tyres (they come to you)
e-tyres
HiQ

Do they get a good report, fitted to the FL2? Or is it just a general report from various makes?

You can be really surprised at how well a particular tyre works on one vehicle but can be totally different on another model.

I must admit for £500 all in, including valves/balance /fitting I went for the general grabber AT on 17" and they proved great.

Best of luck with whichever you go for. (GONE) FL2 2008 SE (manual) Santorini Black, the expensive one Sad
(LEFT WITH) 300tdi Defender 90 the cold, reliable & sensible one Smile

I looked for hours on the net for tyres. I was looking at around 100 quid a tyre and got a few quotes but were mostly for unkown brands. I tried afew tyre shops but again they were quoting me for brands that I hadnt heard much about. I tried Asda, Tesco tyres, Kwik fit/Charlie browns and afew other websites. In the end I went for General Grabber AT, got em at Black circles, it worked out at 490 quid fitted. Abit more than what I wanted to pay but to be honest they have been great in the snow. I found also that some of the unkown tyre brands are made by some of the well know tyre companies. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White.

Marshall tyres are made by kumho tyres. Had mine now for over 20,000 miles, and they still look like new.

I just slapped on another set of Continentals cross contact UHP tyres. Approx. £880 all in. £1000 if I didn't haggle them down!

Having a 2 year old, I thought it best to go for a more road based tyre than an off-road type. The UTQC rating is very good and they are relatively soft (more grippy Very Happy ) than most. The drawback is that I only got 30,000kms from my last set Confused

Will try the Grabbers next time. Just a bit too late for me this time as they have only just started to make a tyre size for my car. 235/60 R18.

Always found Hi-Q reasonable back in the UK. But wherever you go, always haggle them down. Something you can't do on the web but may be cheaper anyway.

Oh, and always ask for the wheel weights to be stuck on the inside of the rim. The weights on the outside are so ugly and they ruin the alloys when taken off.
