Is this a sign of things to come with insurance companies? Work colleague needed to email a copy of her license to prove she could drive, now Mr Slaneydore needs to prove the car has got an imobilsor, what next? Pictures to prove its got wheels? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

You should never email a copy of your driving licence to anyone. The only person by law entitled to demand to see your driving licence is the Police!

Your colleague has passed on a legal document that could be cloned Rolling Eyes 'There is thunder' then 'There is the warble of a V8'

Never thought of the cloning issue but thinking about it you dont really know where the email address is directed to, anyone could get it. Maybe just sending your driving license number is a safer alternative? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Just got of the phone!! Boy that was hard work!!!

Got home from work to find a letter from Churchill thinking it was my cover that i changed over last week from my jeep to my freely only to find when i opened it i wasn't covered for theft Confused until i sent in a certificate of proof of my immobiliser
I thought what the Censored does that mean Question

So i was straight on the phone to have one person tell me i need to take my freely to a dealer so they can give me a certificate of proof - told em it was ridiculous and said if that's what need to be done, it needs to be done!!

Had a quick look on google and found nothing about certificate of proof so i phoned 2 dealers and surprise surprise they didn't have a clue what i was talking about Rolling Eyes

Got back on the phone to Churchill to find myself talking to someone else, so gave them all my info and explained again what was wrong, he was the one who told me it was iver in the door or under the bonnet and if i found it i could phone back and tell them what it was - so i had another look on google to see where it would be located and came up blank, went out to my car couldn't find nothing to indicate any kind of code - and that's when i posted this thread,, then thought i'm gonna have another look and i found a image of the car with arrows pointing to the immobiliser that's in between to sunroofs with a code Very Happy said to my self reeeeesult
Got back on the phone to find myself speaking to yet another person who i needed to give all my details to Rolling Eyes
Told him the situation and i have the code, only to have him say, no sir you will need to take it to a main LR dealer to get a certificate Twisted Evil
as you cam imagine there way a few words exchanged Censored Censored Censored Censored
after around 10 Min's i said look mate! you need to put me thru to someone higher this is ridiculous!!!!
He put me back on hold,, then i heard this voice say (good day sir it looks like your free-lander is a fitted with a standard
immobiliser you are now covered and we will be sending out the new paper work and you should receive it within the next 7 days)

Then he had the nerve to say can i ask you about your life cover & home Insurance & Breakdown cover

I replied ( I bid you good day and thanks for stressing me out) BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

Slaneydore, you should have asked for a discount on your insurance to take into account the money, time and effort of using your telephone for something that was never required in the first place. Rolling Eyes

Seems to me that Churchill need to close shop for a couple of days for some in house training Sheep

Yeah that's because they pay peanuts and get monkeys !

Thanks, that one insurance company never to bother with! Take my hat off to you I would of given up and taken my money else where.

Staff with the mentality of a brick wind me up quicker than anything else.

That I did not know....

As for OP.... personally I would have told them where to go but I assume there was a good reason you did not.

As for appoligies - fat chance... in this day and age the customer comes second which is why businesses are failing all over the place and personally I think we will see the smaller ones come back.... /rant

Change insurance companies is the answer. I go to Sainsburys for my car insurance. Not only do they offer tghe same cover as the "big"insurance companies but knock spots of the price they charge. Infact for this second year of insurance with them it went down not up which makes a change. I have heard Tesco do a good car insurance as well

The general thing with insurance companies is they offer you a good deal for going with them but thereafter they think they have got you hooked and start upping the premium. If that happens change companies annually, for the bit of effort it takes could save you hundreds of pounds.
