I'll have you know that I spend a full £12.50 filling up here with 98RON! Water is more expensive than fuel here.......its a shame then that my company doesn't pay for water instead!! |

Gambba....even with shipping costs I am pretty sure I could ship a tank a week over and it would still be cheaper

Like Grumpy and Paul, mine has not fired up a few times when the button is pressed, but it has always done so on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. The worst being after my first fill-up at a very busy set of pumps. It's embarrasing not to just drive away, and the people behind just think you're pratting around

The key to this problem as I understand it, is that the car doesn't know what gear it is in and therefore it is hit and miss whether it will start or not.

My car has never failed to start, but it does often spit the key out just after I push it in , annoying but not the end of the world. maybe because the key has been in my pocket it doesn't taste very good I might dip it in beer to see if that makes it more palatable! Or curry now that land rover is Indian .

I allways put the key in and then my seatbelt and then start so that I do not rush the electronics. Never had a starting problem. Also I read somewhere here that if you start the car while the passanger is putting in the belt you might have a starting problem as this confuses the electronics. I have found that if I hold the steering wheel when pressing start stop button this triggers the start problem I experienced. If i put my remote in the holder put on my seat belt then press the button everything is okay. However I do experience a transmission fault on the move saying traction is reduced, had LR assisatnce out on Wednseday who said I had a communication problem and installed latest software but to no avail problem retunred after three days |

Don't worry about it. It's all about performing the necessary software updates which means you have to visit a dealer. |

Called in at my dealer last week to pick up mudflaps, and mentioned the intermittent starting and what's been said on here about a software update. They said there's nothing listed against my vehicle - is this tosh?
