On my car the steering angle display is only shown when mud/ruts is selected or HDC is selected when in GGS, if HDC is off in GGS mode the steering angle display doesnt show.
Not sure in sand mode, probably does as you would want the wheels straight before launch or you may go through the side window Laughing

Great review.
But made me envious.
Just been on my first holiday in my 2012 XS and there is a lot you have that I would like, but I suppose that is natural as soon as 'other' bits come available. Now - Black 2012 FR2 SD4 XS really miss the RRS
Gone - Black 2008 3.6 TDV8 RRS orgasmic
Gone - Black 2006 2.7 HSE RRS problems
Gone - Green 2008 SWB Defender fully loaded; brill
Gone - Green 2005 Disco diesel; brill
Gone - Black 2003 Disco diesel; brill

i thought the HSE had Xenons as standard or is that just the HSE LUX? The HSE courtesy car I had this week had the signature lights but they were spoilt by the yellowy headlamps in the dark - I noticed a huge improvement when I picked my MY11 back up which has xenons fitted.

The voice sync system can seem a little long winded but you can put several commands into one sentence to speed the process up, for example you can say 'navigation goto postcode' to go straight through a couple of the menu's. Must admit the warning message is a pain in the arse meaning you have to start again - its daft that you have to press 'agree' on the touch screen to proceed when you think it would let you say the word!

2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Barolo Black

Nice review, Paul, thank you.

The Lux vs HSE gives you Windsor seats which seem to be straight from D4 and are very "clubroom" and wear very nicely (on the Disco at any rate)

Rear park camera is crucial for old geezers like me with arthritic necks and functions very well, while the 19" wheels are truly beautiful... diamond cut, eh? I mean......diamonds!

Haven't tried the vehicle after dark so cannot vouch for the Xenons but the Premium carpet mats came straight out and I replaced them with rubbers.

The black lacquer interior finishers are a wee bit gaudy and throw the sun around - mind you its an excuse to wear the DGs and pose a bit. MY13 SD4 HSEL Barolo/Almond/Privacy Glass/Spoiler

Great review, thanks Paul. Sounds like you got a decent deal, hopefully I will be able to do something similar in a few months when I finally buy a Fl2. Was that with LR contribution for taking finance?
Sep, thanks for your comments about the piano black, I'm hoping t o go for the Lux, but will probably opt for the "wood" trim (even though it now seems to be an extra £100)

2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Barolo Black

Re the Grand black lacquer, Shaw - it certainly looks v smart but the sun bounces off the steering wheel trim and can be a wee bit distracting.

Although we shouldn't complain about this glorious sunshine, I'll be trying to find some way to matt off the top of the boss unless the weather turns normal again.

The wood-effect finisher would be more in keeping with the almond doors/seats etc too and I believe I'd have gone for it if I'd thought a bit more about things at the time of ordering.

Best of luck with your Lux - simply loving ours. MY13 SD4 HSEL Barolo/Almond/Privacy Glass/Spoiler

Liking my 13MY too! Very Happy Very Happy
The front wheel angle display was only in M&R on the LCD screen of my 09MY XS now its shown in GGS as well (nowt sure about "Sand", I'll have to check) . M&R has a ribbon speedometer in the central display so you can see where you are relative to the control speed set point (and remeber you can use the cruise control speed +/- to change that set point).
The little tray in from of the gearshift where TR used to be, is great for my phone.
Can anybody guess why LR swapped the speedo and the tachometer from L to R? Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

Thanks Sep, it's the almond interior that I've decided on, not sure what colour paint to chose, Barolo, Havana (I like it at the moment, but will I still like it in a few years time? I don't know) or Santori?
I also keep changing my mind between Sd4 &TD4 Embarassed
There is also a possibility that when I test drive one it'll be too different to what I'm used to Big Cry

Shaw, santorini is lovely in the sun, it looks stunning, but you have to keep it clean as it shows up all the dirt, our d3 was santorini, we now have a silver freelander, much more user friendly.

DrRpb thanks for the tip on the gap, Lr wanted £365 for 3 yrs, ala want £119 for the same period. No brainer.
