My wifes FL2 was in with the dealer this week to have the rear diff sorted, they gave me a brand new HSE with 3K miles on the clock!

The biggest improvement by miles was the integration of the radio/phone/nav all into one unit. I found the LCD on the pre MY 2013 was a little stupid, you have this lovely big touch screen why not use it!

The NAV just appeared to be a reskined version of the older, the destination entry was consistent which will be good for people upgrading.

I'm a techie at heart and tend to spec my cars with any tech packs available, my wifes FL2 doesn't compare to my Audi however the new FL a huge improvement. The electronic hand brake and key-less system are excellent and the head unit starting to come in-line with Audi's MMI. I think they missed a trick with the keyless system tho, with the audi you can keep the key in your pocket and simply put your hand on the door handle to open it, there's also a little touch pad to lock.

The interior trim is also a lot more refined and has a very luxury feel to it.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Got a 2013MY XS Auto while mine is in for it's service. On the outside I like the front end lights & grille, but the rears look too plastic & rear chrome trim cheap. Inside I prefer the new leather seats & sat nav, instrument cluster, but the centre console is cheap looking & prefer my 2010MY twin cup holder.

Love the keyless start, having to put my key fob in a slot & then press a button is daft, glad it's been rectified.

On the road, the SD4 is much more punchy & smooth coupled with the auto. The suspension is definitely firmer, in fact the whole car feels tighter & more composed. £20k more to upgrade? Nah. Roll on FL3...... 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

The instructor at the Hadley Green off road day confirmed that the MY13 has had the suspension stiffened a tad. Thumbs Up
