That was my problem with my Evoque ended up having a towbar fitted and buying a towbar rack £550 total. |

All joking aside, I'd agree. Removable tow bar plus carrier. Tow bar may be useful further down the line anyhow. |

Dont get hung up on an LR tow bar. I got a detachable Witter unit fitted and got the 13 pin electrics installed. Looks a lot better. Had one on my FL1 as well. |

I had a towtrust fitted on my Evoque about 3 weeks ago its fully detachable and electrics swing behind the bumper so you can't even tell there is a mount there once removed. Freelander2 GS TD4 Manual in Lago Grey |

I'm not hung up on having one but cost is an issue there - In fact I'd be at lot happier if I had one |

I agree - get the tow bar and a decent bike carrier - it will be worth it in the long run.

Exactly.... found some strap on and clip on types which may help.... one I found had an adjustable height which should lift it out of the way of the lights.

I have used a couple of strap-on types in the past. They're OK, but not as secure as a properly-fitted one, and you have to be very careful, particularly if carrying more than one bike, to ensure that the bikes are firmly secured and padded so you don't damage either the bikes or the car. They also make access to the load area difficult.

A tow bar is probably the best. I have a maxxraxx on mine and it is so solid. I appreciate it's not the cheapest option. I've had three bikes mounted on mine and probably could easily do 5. You don't even know they are there.

I'm still a fan of maxxraxx. Have a look at their website.
