I'm thinking of getting the FL2 valeted. I've found a company that clean cars in the local area;

In Plymouth which is where I work there are at least half a dozen valet centres all run by eastern Europeans, I have a "mini" valet which took about 45 mins and what a job they did.

All for £18.00, the car was pristine. So £25 does not look too bad depends how good a job they do but mine was worth it for a day then it rained again

Instead of paying someone to do it, I could buy some car cleaning products and to it myself. I would like to get the Fl2 valeted at least once a year to keep it in top condition. Otherwise £18 at the local Eastern Europeans car wash does the trick.

If its a new car with unspoilt paint then valeting is the way to go, the prices quoted are a little on the low but they seem to cover most of the areas you need to focus on. The paint on the FR2 we have bought is a mess, swirl marks all over the shop and will likely require a detailed paint correction to remove them.

I would strongly advise against the "eastern european" approach, they will likely spray the car with road traffic film remover which can eat into any lacquer and cause hazing, yes the car will look "clean" but after a while you will loose the shine and will end up costing a fortune in correction.

Taking the time and using the 2 bucket method and other approaches http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4637 will ensure the paint remains well looked after, spending a little extra time is well worth the effort in the long run in my opinion.

The East Europeon way is short term gain, long term pain.

I wouldn't let those 'valeters' you see in retail outlet car parks with nothing more than a (barely) damp sponge within a mile of my car.

Ooh I don't know, sometimes it's worth it when that wet 'T' shirt presses against the windscreen as the hand moves in circles removing the moisture from the front of my car roof.

Why else would I go but for the final rinse

I wouldnt want east europeeins cleaning my car, they probably pee'd in the bucket beforehand.
