That's the reason I have them. Just that little bit of extra protection in car parks etc hopefully saves my doors. |

Couple it with side door strips and you'll stand an even better chance. Plus avoid ALL Retail Carparks! Foraging near Gaydon.... 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧 MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

A pre requisite of having side steps is the wearing of Gaiters. The mud slick on the back of your trousers will bear testament to this. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Surely that applies only if you go anywhere near the nasty mud stuff! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Went back and changed them after a minor argument:

Well, fitted them today. Took nearly 3 hours to do the first side and about 25 minutes to do the other side. Didn't use a rivnut tool, just half a dozen washers and a longer bolt. Tightened the bolt up and when the washers were tight together, I held them with a pair of mole grips, pushed the rivnut into the pre-drilled hole (if LR went to the bother of putting a hole, they could have fitted a captive nut at the same time!), and gunned it up with my impact tool. Already I have caught the back of my trouser leg when getting out so I'll have to change my method of getting in and out otherwise I'm going to get some muddy trousers! They look good but you don't half lose some ground clearance. Still, it'll probably never be doing any serious off-roading while I have it. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
