2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Alaska White

Fitting Seat airbags

Looking for any help on fitting airbags into front seats on a freelander 2?
I have the chance to buy a complete leather interior for my GS but the airbags have gone off.
Does anyone know how hard these are to fit? Also, if I can just re stitch the seat myself after fitting?
Is this a job I can do or should I steer clear?

The more I look into it the less I fancy tackling it!
Think I will go with my original plan to get my seats recovered in leather!

Airbags

You will I am sure be able to use the airbags off your own car then all will be comparable
The key is to undo the battery for a while before disconnecting so as to allow energised electronics can go dead.
Look at topix and search the forum
Not sure about how to restitch .
If you are not buying the interior would you kindly pm me with details of what and where.

There is also a shorting link inside the connector on the firing circuit to prevent accidental deployment Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

covers are not stiched and if airbags have gone off then the seat is as a whole is scrap. You are playing with your life and it's a very, very, very stupid idea.

Thanks for the help guys, I've decided not to go for them but if anyone is interested the guy to contact is Jon Daunter at http://www.landroverbreaker.com/ they are from a 2011 freelander and in black. He's asking £1000 for the interior.

This really shouldn't be attempted.

For seat mounted airbags the seat covers are designed to fail (tear open) in a very specific way allowing the air bag to do its job. Any attempted repair would almost certainly mess with this design intent.
