Good luck. Thumbs Up Hopefully we will see you on the forum often. The Fiesta is a lovely car to drive, I wanted one in Lime green before I got the FL2.

Gentlemen, I salute you. I am pleased that others have seen my approach here. I have enjoyed 3 years of FL2 ownership and knowing how awesome it has been in winter, I will be buying winter tyres in due course to avoid getting stuck (unless its deep then I might need help Laughing )

I took it for a spin yesterday and it feels much faster than the figures suggest but then it is a small and light car. The petrol engine is amazingly smooth and quiet. I rang my insurance company and they will give me a £95 refund and then it will be £20 less per month.

Love the new looks on the Fez with the Aston style front grille.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Very nice! Bow down

Freelander is better than even the Fiesta in most ways, especially the snow. Wink Thumbs Up

Ford is one of my favourite car brands, along with LR and Alfa Romeo.

The GF wants a new car, she's bored with the 08 A3 Rolling Eyes We went to look at the Fiesta yesterday but she likes the look of the Fiat Punto.

Cheers folks. Tough decision but a necessary one. Chrisr1806, I know all too well how supreme the FL2 is but we can at least chalk up some points for the Fez on running costs and handling Laughing

From what I have seen on YouTube, only deep & thick snow would stop a 2WD car fitted with winter tyres. In due course I shall purchase some and because I will still frequent this forum, I will report back on their abilities. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Nice motor that Doc Thumbs Up

You are at least changing for something nice, affordable and with the peace of mind of warranty and breakdown cover. Tell you something, I know you have purchased to save money rather than for speed but that will be quicker than the figures suggest.

I notice you used to own the 2.0 ST a few years back. 150bhp with 0-60 stated at 7.9 seconds. That would be tough to reach because its an N/A engine and would need revving.

The new Zetec-S is only 1.0 but is turbo charged and has TI-VCT. 125bhp with 0-60 stated as 9.4. The turbo makes that more realistic and in the real world, the in-gear pace with the turbo will be good and much easier to achieve. All the while hitting good mpg.

I have the SD4 which is 8.something to 60 but lets be honest, diesels don't rev and no matter how quick they are, they will never have the smooth pleasure of a petrol engine. I had a Focus 1.6 Zetec Petrol before the FL1 and that was as smooth as silk.

Thumbs Up 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I have looked at prices on the Continental TS850 winter tyres which according to various reviews, is the king of kings of winter tyres for cars (not inc 4x4's as far as I know)

Circa £380. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

When you get the car, I would suggest a good coat of wax/sealent as solid red paints can oxidise in the sun, and go pink , something with good UV blocking will help, for ease of use I'd suggest http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exter...eal-250ml/
