I currently have that message too, mine is going into the garage on Wednesday for a new seat base, the message will be reset then, there are two messages, one can be reset by a sequence using the start button and odometer trip button, the message in the central display can only be dealer reset.

Almost sounds like sour grapes from them as you went to a different garage, I wonder if a hard reset would clear the message ? Maybe another member can help.

I have found that loyalty to the dealers can be worth while. I'm not saying you don't have to pay more, but when you need a little help or advice etc, they have always been there. |

Dealer oil service due message can only be reset by a LR Dealer or one who has appropriate diagnostic equipment. Hard reset will not reset message. |

Yes it has to be a dealer, personally I cannot see how they can refuse if you offer to pay for it to be done and the dealer that you bought your car off well it does sound like sour grapes.

This must have been introduced on 2011 models. After my 1st service at a LR delear the oil service message appeaered. I went back and they tried to clear it using the buttons on the dash. However, as we now know this does not work. They then took it to the computer and that cleaerd it.

Oil Service due message is linked to the number of DPF regeneratiion cycles the vehicle goes through. DPF became standard on all diesel models in UK from MY2011 which went on sale in September 2010. |

My software on my diag kit is showing a function for oil reset and DPF reset. For freelander 2 and I am nearer too you than SAlisbury. By the way a useless dealer. I haven't used the oil reset function but your welcome to be a guinea pig. The kit is very advanced and was written for dealer level.

That screen looks like the one I have at work. Is it an Autodiagnos one? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

This message is based on number of days since last service, nothing to do with DPF regenerations. 11 GS Bali Blue 07 GS FL2. Usually muddy. Gone Numerous LRs since 1963 |

if a main dealer resets your service message without actually doing the service the car then they are guilty of fraud.
