Tis Here!!

At last!!!

Picked it up about an hour ago, short drive around the lanes, is everything we were hoping for, except 'Top management' is in deep trouble for making it all wet.....and finding a few deep puddles (on purpose I'm sure;-)) Naughty girl!

The extra's we ordered, full dog guard, full boot liner, were very worthwhile as it will often really be 'Kola's cab!!!' Also the mudflaps look great and complete the look we think (ok she thinks, same thing these days)

Still awaiting the DVLC to wake up and sort out the personal reg, but the insurance compay (Saga) were great and are prepared to change the documentation for free when the paperwork is complete. Kola is the big solid black German Shepherd, Dobbie is.......a breed you've never heard of......yet;)

Hi Justchillin,

Thanks, and as far as a name is concerned, I'm informed as we are used to calling the old Suzuki "The GV", (for Grand Vitara), the new toy is to be the "LV" (as in Land roVer, I guess). Not my choice, but then its been a few years since I've ever had one Wink Kola is the big solid black German Shepherd, Dobbie is.......a breed you've never heard of......yet;)

If your dog's anything like ours, you'll soon be ditching the dog guard and getting a travel cage. We can now open the rear hatch without worrying about her dashing out. We can also leave other items in the boot without fear of them or the rear seats/load cover/trim/headrests/seat belts getting chewed plus we don't have the problem of dog licks/nose prints on the windows.

Just speakng from experience. Whistle Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Hi Guys,

Had a bespoke cage for the Suzuki (may fit, not had a chance to try), but it needed the rear seats folded, whereas there is room for both without doing same in the Freelander which for us is a great advantage. Both dogs are well trained (well ok the pup is 'getting there', kinda;-)) so the guard is for saftey more than anything else. Cages are great I agree but they do cost space, and Kola is one big girl! (43kg).

I have tried to create an album for pics, but keep getting a load error, will try later!

For anyone interested in our dogs......the pup is a Silken Windhound, He is just 8 monhs old now (might make 9Wink). New breed for the UK only around 40 here so far, and def. worth a Goggle, interesting read! Kola is the big solid black German Shepherd, Dobbie is.......a breed you've never heard of......yet;)

Kola, the problem with your pics is likely that they are too big, the site says 7000kb or 7 meg but I find pictures smaller than this also get kicked out on upload.

Try resizing them and try again, don't need huge images 1200 x 800 pixels or thereabouts are fine for on here, there are many online program that can help with this, any problems just shout and we will figure it out Thumbs Up

This may help, a sort of cut down instruction Thumbs Up

If my photos are bigger than 1Mb I use a 'photo resizer' (plenty on the web, but I use this one http://www.faststone.org/) and resize to around 350kb so they load onto the site OK.

For fuss free compatibility, make sure the photos are in JPG/JPEG format.

I then click on 'Gallery' (top of site page), then 'Upload Photos', this brings up a page where you will click on 'Browse' and navigate to where your photo is on your computer.

If you have more than one photo then 'Browse' again, when finished click on 'Continue', after a few seconds of seemingly nothing being done the page will change to 'Upload successful', press 'continue' again.
Here you can organise or put in a file title or just press 'Continue', press 'Continue' again and the photo(s) will be in your gallery.

To post them:
Click on 'My Gallery', navigate to a photo and click on it, scroll down a little and you will see a 'BBCode', right click and copy the code, make a new reply post and paste the BBCode into your reply, preview it to make sure it looks all hunky dory and submit if happy.
Hope that makes sense
