Has the LR extended warranty always been this pricey or has there been a recent increase in charges?

Sounds like quite a hike to me. My year 4 Approved bu no breakdown (I have family AA) was 550 and year 5 (now) was still in the same age and mileage band but a price rise to 585. I paid over 10 months Per your sums (2 free at the end like Council Tax!).
