What is the aux connection type?

I'm about to wire my iphone bracket cable to the stereo head unit. I've got a 2007 GS with the standard stereo.

Does anyone know what connection type it is for aux input on the rear of the head unit..? 2002 Honda VFR800

I wanted the phone held for use as a sat nav and play my favourite tunes...

Bought a cable to attach to the phone holder - it has a usb connector plus a stereo plug on the end...

Thought, before opening the dashboard, someone might know what connector i'll need for the rear of the head unit.... 2002 Honda VFR800

I could be wrong but i would say the usb will be to power/charge the phone,I take it when you say stereo cable you mean a 3.5 mm jack plug.
If thats the case feed the stereo cable back to the aux input socket at the back of the hand brake
As for the power usb wire that in in the same way that been instructed on page 6 in think of retrofit tomtom thread.

hope that helps

Thanks for the reply Steve although in this case the saying about "grandmothers and egg sucking comes to mind"

I'm perfectly at home with connectors and their purpose and function.

What I'm asking is what connector am I going to find on the back of the stereo unit to plug into for the aux input.

This will allow me to go and buy a 3.5mm socket and the necessary plugs for the back of the stereo.

I'm guessing I will find a bunch of breakout cables with phono connectors. Well I sort of hope so as I've plenty of those in my stock. 2002 Honda VFR800

Simont,

This guy has done something similar. It would appear that the Aux connection at the back of the head unit is part of a multi-way plug, so he grafted on his wiring.

He has a link to some very useful images.

Good luck! garioch43

That's given me an idea. I dont want the iPod on show so I'll look into moving the iPod connector to the glovebox. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
