Parking full on a pavement and double yellow lines

Is parking fully on a pavement when the road has double yellow lines an offence? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Parking on any pavement no matter how many wheels is an offence. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Apparently so. See here:

Unless you work for a Council, of course, then no rules apply. Twunts. Foraging near Gaydon....

I thought you could park on a pavement aslong as you were not obstructing pedestrians or crossing double yellow lines. Councils are potty with stuff like this. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

It's up to the Council or the local plod and what local bylaws are in place.
I've never done it although in many residential areas it makes sense to do so. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

A few years back a neighbour on our narrow street reported me to the police as every now and again i would park the works van on the grass verge outside his house. Police told me it was fine as it was the best place to park it. The neighbour failed to tell the police that he regulary parked outside my house and that i only brought the works van home once a month. Police told me as long as i wasnt obstructing the pavement or parked on yellow lines then i was fine. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Any where within the M25 you get a ticket by just putting a wheel on the pavement, no discussion, they just write a ticket, they probably don't discuss it as they can't speak English as they only speak in Grunt anyway or pretend to be deaf. Evil or Very Mad

Not strictly true. London Borough of Barnet are exempt from this legislation, providing that it is nearside wheels only on pavement. Foraging near Gaydon....

Only if there are sign posts depicting a vehicle parked on the kerb.

Irrespective of the law or legislation, the road is for a car and a pavement is for pedestrians. Yes, pedestrians have to cross the road and cars have to cross a pavement but drivers would soon complain if pedestrians parked themselves in the road for a chinwag.

As for the question, it depends on the locality and local legislation. In my area which is rural, anything goes and the police nor the council are not interested.

it depends...

...

There are locations where putting a couple of wheels up on the pavement is unavoidable but I know from walking the dog that some drivers just take the p Censored ss with nearly the whole car mounted on the pavement, completely obstructing the path for pedestrians, partic if with dog, kids, pram, wheelchair, walking aids etc etc.

I watched one woman park her car up on the pavement, virtually obstructing the whole pave and suggested to her that she runs the risk of it being scratched by passing pedestrians. She ignored me so I told her that, in fact, it's bloody inconsiderate of her. At this point the launched a rant, telling me to mind my own business. ...

Be true to yourself. That way happiness lies...

We get this in London all the time, even if its a narrow street and you put a wheel on the kerb so as not to block the street its a ticket, they will tell you to block the road whilst delivering but do not park on the Kerb.

I had 2 wheels on the edge of the pavement late one night. Genuine parking bay, In no way did it obstruct the generous width of the pavement but certainly helped keep the very narrow road clear (tbh was more worried about losing my wing mirror!) Came back an hour later and had been issued a ticket for parking on the pavement. (Coming) 2016 RR Evoque td4 180 HSE Dynamc
(Going) 2013 TD4 GS Auto - Santorini Black with black leather. Cold Climate, UK Lighting & Armrest Packs. Privacy Glass. LR Rubber Mats. Full size spare.
60 000 miles averaging 35mpg

(Gone) 2010 TD4 Manual GS - Stornoway Grey. Sold at 3yrs old & 64k miles. Final average consumption 39.2mpg.
