my pleasure - it's always good to give something back when I too have received great help and ideas from others on the forum - it's what we are all here for (even CG as an RRS owner!) 2002 Honda VFR800

SimonT, Facing the same key fob battery failure problem. However I'm very nervous about opening the case. Can you just tell me (again) how you did that without damaging the circuit board? I can see that there is a small joint inside the key blade slot and around the outside. Basically is this a job for a Stanley knife or a chisel?? Thanks, Phil |

Thanks SimonT and Dadipiper. Unit safely cracked, new battery carefully soldered in and now waiting for glue to set. (fingers crossed) I'd still have paid good money for a replacement empty case like the ones you can get for older freelanders. Next step is to recharge it. BTW I think one of the battery connections being dry may have been my problem rather than a battery failure as the smaller one didn't look good when I went to desolder it. Thanks again. |

My experience mirrored all of yours. Found the battery from $8.14 online. I didn't notice any sort of gasket or sealant on the fob, seriously doubt it's waterproofed like a LR3/Disco3 (LR claims submersible to 75 feet!).

In my view opening the case is the only difficult bit.

Junction One Retail Park....the only place in the whole of Warwickshire where it becomes mandatory to have a 40"+ waistline to gain entry. The KFC and McD's do a roaring trade on site catering for all the fattus bastardus that visit and litter day and night.....
