United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

Many years ago (as a whipper -snapper) I remember reading with interest light(s) being used as camouflage, particularly by ships at sea.. I was fascinated to think that a bright light could be used to disguise the presence of a huge object.

Not had time to research properly today but found this article ...

Wiki article

Sometimes a light does not necessarily advertise one's existence or presence!

Don't get me started on the strobing effect of rear facing LEDs - I very often get distracted by the 'strobed' light in my peripheral vision. Freelander 1 TD4 HSE - gone, 2 weeks after the Cat.Converter!

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Ipanema Sand

Well let me add my 2 pennarth.

Whilst riding my bike to work one morning, with a bright yellow hi vis jacket, headlight on, traveling around 40 ish in a 40 limit (OK, may be a bit over) a lady driver very kindly pulled out of a side road from the right into my path when she was about 30 foot away from me.

Result, a very nice dying swan over the bonnet of her car, 2 broken ribs, broken shoulder blade & broken collar bone. 4 days in hospital & 12 weeks off work.

Her excuse, she did not see me!

DRL's what a joke, never did me any good. If drivers can not see a biker with a high vis jacket, headlight on coming towards you @ 40 MPH in broad daylight, they should have their license surgically inserted where it can induce serious pain every time they get into a driving seat.

In short, if you can not see a vehicle in daylight without lights, or if you need fog lights to see when it aint foggy, DON'T DRIVE.  MY2014 SD4 XS
