According to the AA the price difference between petrol and diesel was between 5 and 6p a litre cheaper, the same as it is so far this year. |

I have a US market LR2 fitted with the 2.0T direct injection from the Evoque. It's a great engine for the LR2. Plenty of power (240hp, 250lb-ft!) which is more than the outgoing I6. It is plenty fast and with the 6 speed autobox it accelerates well for a truck. Although the government combined fuel average is only 20mpg, I question the methodology as I'm seeing 28-30mpg on the highway at 60-70mph and in the mid-20s in town. It's also known as the Ford EcoBoost 2.0L and is used in a large number of vehicle platforms and is considered an excellent engine by all regards. I'm quite happy with it. 2013 LR2 HSE LUX: 2.0L I4; Barolo Black, Ebony Windsor Leather; Navigation, Satellite Radio, Cold Weather Pack, Piano Black Trim. |

Seems pointless keep starting new threads so resurrecting an old one.

The Si4 Freelander is available in many overseas markets, including some where they drive on the left and it would be quite likely LR would have some in UK for testing etc. |

The petrol engine appeals to me, I don't do a massive amount of miles to warrent a diesel with the devils very own creation, the DPF.

I very much doubt we'll see an Si4 Freelander in the UK. Might see it in the replacement but not in the current one. |

Why not fit a twin turbo to the SD4 and let it fly
