There is a service builitin about this, not sure which one but I will try and find it, I think the fix was to replace both fobs, and do something to the key unit... Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black |

If you google land rover topix you can register for an hour of access for about £10 the information should be easy to find from there.

Try your spare key fob. If it ejects properly then it is the key fob not the dash housing that is worn.
