Squeaky gear stick operation?

My 58 LR2 TD4s has just developed a squeaky gear shift. Mainly in 2, 3rd gears & sometimes going into 1st. Does not seem to effect the operation of the gears (so far), just noisy when engaging them. No problem with clutch.
Would it be covered under Land Rover used warranty?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks. Landy has now gone.

Do you mean the gearbox linkage cables? Would they need replacing? Are they easy to get too? New to Landy's.

The noise seems to be coming from the bottom of the gear stick area, as you can feel & hear it when changing gear from inside the cabin.

Changed a clutch cable a long time ago, before they became hydraulic. Access was a pain Laughing

Thanks. Landy has now gone.

get someone to sit in the car and wobble gear stick, pop bonnet and look in area under the batterey/airbox, oil the moving cables. this should cure the internal squeak too At work
