I am also running these after ditching the useless expensive Conti's which wear out too quickly and have no grip in the ice/snow.

I am desperate to sort out new tyres and have been looking at these with the idea of running them all year as i only do 5-6 K miles per year in the FL2. However, their 'wet grip' score on the new EU rating label thingy is poor and the noise level is worse than avarage too. It is a shame because this has really put me off the tyre even though i know it gets good reviews. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Any difference in MPG? Basically is there any downside?

All winter tyres seem to score low on the EU Wet Grip rating, which at first seems odd, with a softer compound more tread pattern you'd think they would do better. The reason is winter tyres are subject to the same testing conditions as summer tyres and are therefore being tested outside of their intended window of operation, .i.e winter. I read that summer tyres operate effectively down to 7 degrees and winter tyres upto 11 degrees, so I don't think the EU Wet Grip rating for winter tyres is all that relevant....unless of course you intend to use them all year round, then it will be. |

Interestingly, there are only a few winter tyre and wheel combinations that are actually approved by Landrover for use on the FL2. One of the 2 for an 18" wheel is the Goodyear Ultragrip + SUV which does score a C on the EU wet grip scale. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Anyone using the infinity inf200 tyre? It's a cheap tyre that's made in china but is an all season tyre that is mud and snow rated. I only do 6000 miles a year. I am looking at general grabber tyres but then saw the infinity tyre. 80 quid fitted but I know you get what you pay for. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

No difference in MPG or ride quality. The is a tyre dealer in Church Stretton who used to stock 'em. Can't for the life of me remember their name, but a search on google finds HMJ tyres. I was driving in the Dyfnant forest yesterday on ice and snow Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

I did 30,000 miles running the Nokians all year round. They were better than the original Goodyear Wranglers in winter but when the tread was down to 4mm they were slippy in wet summer conditions. Am now running Dunlop Winter Sport and have done 20,000 miles - these tyres are excellent winter and summer and I will get 30,000 miles before the tread is down to 4mm. (PS I live North of Aberdeen so summer is a relative term) |

After quite a bit of reading I am leaning towards the Dunlop SP Winter 3D tyres for Oct/Nov . |

Thing is I really don't want to be running two sets of tyres so I'm hesitant of true winters.
