Check that it unlocks/locks with the fob paying attention to the rear door as water ingress upsets the locking mechanism.

All good stuff above except they won't change the cambelt. This is a 150,000/10 year item. Expect to get a new MOT.

When you take it up the road, accelerate hard up from second, third and fourth checking that the clutch is not slipping, you tend to notice it as you accelerate off roundabouts, keeping any eye on the Rev Counter. |

It is the slipping at speed you need to watch for, it won't do it when parked, it's only in the higher gears under acceleration. |

No, because it's a hydraulic clutch, so is self-adjusting. Therefore impossible to tell if it's worn. On the other hand there are other indications, like a stiff pedal or clutch slip in 5th and 6th, that tell you something's wrong. |

Our clutch pedal engages quite high up, but there is no sign of distress, and we can tow a fully laded caravan without any sign of slipping. |

My fiesta Zetec-S suited a manual, I stongly believe the FL2 is at it's best with an auto. |
