When I lock up the FL2 (2009 HSE TD4) and it is quiet I can hear a high pitched noise that seems to come from just behind the grille. It lasts for maybe 10 sec then there is sometimes a click like a flap opening or closing, then silence. No other noises and no problems with the car at all. I'm guessing its the alarm setting but have never experienced the like before.

I see. Previous diesels of my acquaintance have had a kind of "death shudder" on switching off now you come to mention it. So this is a deliberate feature to prevent that from happening? This car is constantly amazing me. |

Yes, its a good feature, here's a good explanation of it but this members 'throttle body' made too many noises
