Hi all,

Just an update from me..... I have now had a drive in both an SD4 & TD4 (both auto's, 10 reg's) & I do have to admit I could notice a difference even though I wasn't sure I would. The SD4 was more 'keen & revvey'. For anyone who does need some extra grunt then the SD4 is the way to go. For me personally I was happy with the TD4, it certainly wasn't lacking in power & I won't be towing anything. It felt so smooth & relaxing to drive & I was really impressed. Very Happy

I now have to decide if I am going to go for the new MY13 & then if I am I have to decide for deffo on spec & colour. I really liked the Firenze Red but there was a new FL2 outside the dealership & also a Evoque inside the showroom & it did look a bit 'pink' in different light & it sort of put me off.
They had one in the new Martinique blue which was very nice but looks like it might date quickly. I think it's going to be Baltic blue or Orkney grey.

I'll post again when I've finally decided.

Try to avoid the red. Personally I like it but a friend who is a car dealer tells me he always tries to avoid red Land Rovers in his stock as they are the hardest to move and the price drop is worse than other colours. Blue Grey and Black seem to hold their price. John

Have I made a terrible mistake? Oh,and hello!

Hi Freelanding people, glad to be joining your ranks (I think)

After a lot of research ,I've bought a 2007 HSE manual in light metallic blue with beige interior. It's done 77,00 miles with FSH and I bought it privately from a lovely guy in Bristol, where it shared garage space with a pre war Alvis, a Bristol ,an E-Type and various ancient motorbikes. He'd just bought a new Merc ML and was keeping the Freel for his daughter, but the insurance was prohibitive. Sounds like the perfect provenance for a used buy, especially as he put a new tyre and rear discs and pads on it the day before I bought it.

Well, that's what I thought, right up until it nearly killed me by going into limp mode half way past an artic on the A420. Reduced engine performance, indeed! I'm assuming fuel filter and will get it done next week. And to think I got this instead of a Disco 3 because I was scared of the potential unreliability and huge bills.

I'm pretty philosophical about secondhand cars, but handing over £10k and the f#*#*# thing doesn't even make it home is stretching it a bit, even for me! The good news is that SWMBO loves it and it seems to be the most economical car we've got, 36mpg compared to 34 for my Chrysler 300 and 22 for her Merc CLK. That and the perfect timing of the snow arriving. Just got rid of a 300tdi Disco after 7 happy years so the Freelander will definitely be getting dirty, although hopefully not damaged.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

Hi,
had a good day today. Clocked up a few firsts: first diesel, first automatic, first 4x4 and first landrover as I just picked up a 2007 HSE with 25k on the clock.

Joined here a few weeks back as part of research with the aim of getting a Freelander 2 around April sometime, but the deadline went out the window when I saw this one and I dived straight in. Had a big stupid grin on my face driving back to Kent, managed to read enough of the manual before hand to know how to engaged the HDC for an icey slope down the backroads, could hear it working too. The current tyres have about 5k of life left in them so I have some Conti 4x4 Winter Contact tyres from CamSkill being fitted Tuesday until the end of the winter.

Wales 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Fuji White
LR newbie checking in!

Hi all,

Just thought I'd say 'hello' as a new member. I'm due to part-ex my beloved BMW X3 in a couple of days for a pre-registered 62-plate (200 miles on the clock) FL2 GS in Fuji White. I've had the X3 for 4 years and I have to say it's been flawless. That makes me a little nervous about changing it but I've bitten the bullet anyway! Never had a Land Rover of any description before but if the FL is anywhere near as good as the X3 has been to me I'll be very happy!

I plan to make a few small mods so, no doubt, I'll be asking obvious/daft questions here!My priority list is,

- mats
- aluminium interior trim kit
- centre armrest
- satnav mounted in dash 'cubby'

Wish me luck! Very Happy

I certainly could have done with it over the last few days. The X3 is not bad in the snow but the FL2 a week earlier would have been welcome!
