Hi everyone, Paul from just outside Glasgow in Scotland here.

Looking to make my first LR purchase in next couple of days, 2013 hse in Havana, auto sd4. Extras, privacy glass, spoiler and side steps. Also thinking about side mouldings, any thoughts?

I've been driving an old ml270 for the last few years, so going to be interesting to see what a modern 4x4 is like to get along with.

Have found the forum really useful over the last few weeks, so thanks!

Paul

Hi Paul,
A lot of us have side mouldings, some like them others don't. However, one thing is for sure, they do offer some protection from car park door dings. John

Welcome Terran.
Looks like you're getting a nicely specced motor.
If you've been lurking for a couple of weeks you'll see there's a lot of very knowledgable and helpful people on here.
Hope you enjoy your new LR.

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

Just a quick hello, I been following the site for a while and thought I would join.

I have had a 2012 GS in Firenza Red for about 6 months and covered around 6000 miles.
No problems yet (touch wood) I did get the dealer to disable the auto folding mirrors as they are
a bit of a pain when you have towing mirrors fitted and can result in a dented door as the mirrors fold
when you lock the car !

I also own a series 2 disco which I use offroad occasionally.
I have a hawkeye for my disco and when the freelander comes out of warranty will probably get it
unlocked for the freelander (or perhaps earlier if I am feeling nosey).

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Hello all. Like others here I read this site from cover to cover before electing to purchase my 2009 HSE auto. I am off to pick it up this afternoon and in the nicest possible way I hope that I end up as an infreguent visitor to these pages. I don't intend to carry out any modifications and sincerely hope that nothing goes wrong (don't we all?).

It is standard and has a fully documented local history. Despite having 44,000 on the clock it is by far the cleanest I have seen. Since the rule is "buy on condition not mileage" so we'll see how that goes.

The car realy grabbed me because it has the storm grey leather that seems to be quite rare but is a massive improvement (IMHO) on the ubiquitous Napoli black.

Actually I do need the latest Satnav discs, anyone got any for sale?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

Hi all,
My name is Rob and i live in glorious North Devon.
Ive just recently purchased my first freelander, a 57 se with 50,000 miles in excellent condition with full FL service history.

Ive been lurking on here for a few months reading hundreds of pages of info (thanks everyone for that) and jioned up a week or two ago.

I had it a couple of days and noticed a water leak from coming fom the rear high level break light, strange as the 2 days before i took it out was all the torrential rain we had in mid December and it was bone dry, as it was when we took it for a second test drive. I guess the angle it was parked at on the drive aided it getting in. Anyway, after 2 failed attempts to repair it i demanded a new light unit and this was duly fitted. Been ok since and the salesman at the FL garage gave our daughter one of the teddy bears as a Xmas present to say sorry.

Despite the two failed attempts the garage has been very good, even managed to blag a top of the range Evoque for a couple days when it was in the second time.

Ive oredered a set of side steps (our daughter cant get in and out without being lifted up) and a rear spoiler (which just has to be done)

Anyhow, hi from me and i look forward to having a few conversations on the forum.

Rob

Hello all,

Once I find a nice Hse for about 13-15k I'll be fully in the fold. So no doubt I'll have few questions but I'll try and search for the answers before posting up.

Hope that it'll tick both the daily drive and tow car duties well.

Keith
