I agree with you ,you should think that it would be taxed less.However, if all cars move to diesel then the total tax raised would be considerably less. A need therefore to raise income tax. I don't think that is going to happen.

I live in France where fuel is a bit cheaper than the UK, diesel is euro 1.23 per litre, petrol is around the same price, thats not to bad .

I thought BASEL was in Switzerland .............or at least I remember it being in Switzerland when I crossed the border there some years ago............have they moved it  ______________________

Just back from the Uk in my new FLR cost to fill in Belgium = about Euro 62 Cost to fill in the UK = £ 65 so with this , you poor folks are paying 30% more than me for the same stuff..... and the motorways are all lit with streetlights over here all night so there .... how about that for a green footprint up your jacksey
