Anyone have up to date info on the current planned date for the FL3 launch? I've seen auto press articles pushing it out to 2015, but hoping these are wrong! Life is not a dress rehearsal! |

All depends on the markets, what else is in the pipeline etc and how well the face lifted/ updated FL is doing.

The spy shots on autocar said spring 2015. Obviously thats not 100% accurate but if they are saying that I'd imagine it will be 2015 at the earliest 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE

Early 2015 is 100% right. I was speaking to one the R & D guys at at LR in September and he was telling me the 2013 update was designed to take the car to 2015, Spring of that year is the target date.

It doesn't work like that Taz, market conditions don't come in to it, as they have a product time line that they always work to. They have development teams for each product line, so even if RR is doing well, the Freelander is still a major product for JLR. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

Thx for replies so far, despite common view we may indeed have to wait till 2015! I'm still hoping that by then LR will have a production version of their much heralded diesel electric plug-ín hybrid engine as one option.

I can see the stretch Evoke and a new Freeander being one and the same. Perhaps one an upmarket version, the other not so.

There never appears to be any logic in a manufacturers naming process, so it is pointless in trying to surmise what they will do.

7 seats? ........ hope that's not a reason to add 10k to the price! Life is not a dress rehearsal! |

I hear that the new freelander will have 2 wheelsbases. LW will be a 7 seater option.
