Got a squeeky boot hinge, had a search on here but can see anything. Whats the best oil/grease to use? Silicone? Lithium?

Silicone spray works for me. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

Its only squeaking because the joint is dry, most lubs will do the trick. I use wd40 sprayed lightly about every six months or so no problems

Best on cars in chain lube doesnt dry out and doesnt attract dust and dirt !

Now I drive a forklift at work and ive got a can of chain lube, same stuff? Might make a mess, i'll use wd40 or silicon? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Trouble with silicon is that it doesn't really work as a metal to metal lubricant & WD40 just disappears after a short period. Chain lube that I use doesn't drip and does not attract dirt and its designed to creep as a lubricant so it gets into the parts that need lubricating.

Finish Line dry chain lube. Goes on wet and carries teflon into the hinge then dries.
