The fob will inductively charge in the dock, the key has to be thr correct way round for this to happen though, with the buttons uppermost.

The key is charged in much the same way as a step down transformer works by induction.

Thanks for all your help guys. I guess then that my battery has had it. Do i have to get this part from a LR dealer.Or can they be bought on line somewhere ie e*bay ?

I don't suppose anyone knows roughly how long a Key would typically need to stay docked in order to become fully charged, would they?

Recharge it by putting the key on your electric tooth brush holder / charger. Thats a induction loop, I keep my reserve key topped up this way, no probs. |
