The 'latch finisher' is the one above the rear bumper sill and level with the boot floor, personally I think whatever you skin it with, it will mark.

Sorry Taz, but I have to disagree there...mine has the Bumper Piece (not the latch finisher) and the boot has had big steel 3phase Panel Boards in and out of it every day over the last couple of months, without as much as a ding or scratch...would hate to think what fate might have befallen my rear bumper had it not been fitted. Not sure why anyone would want the latch finisher personally, as it's expensive and hidden from view most of the time, but the Bumper Strip not only looks good, it offers practical protection as well. Foraging near Gaydon.... 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧 MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

fl2 has the bumper finished anyway just in plastic, a steel wont wont 'protect' things much differently

From what I can see the chrome finisher only replaces the black plastic finisher with the same amount of paintwork still exposed, I just have an old rug I chuck over the bumper when Im loading things that might scratch the paintwork, cost nothing, and nothings got scratched yet, plus its nice and warm to sit on whilst youre getting your kit off, |

Black piece, shiny piece, it makes no difference, same size and same coverage.

As mentioned, the finisher doesn't protect the edge of the bumper.
