What's the confusion EY? Outside goes outside, simples! The tyre happens to be asymmetric - ie one side to outside of the car. The tyres in my gallery are Avon Ice which illustrate this. (snow groove to outside) Directional tyres will have an arrow indicating the direction of travel. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

thanks for clearing that up!, would it be safe to say that some designs of tyres, on one side of the car will not work as efficiently as tyres on the other side?

That's me confused too! Are those tyres Asymmetric (yes), Directional (maybe) or both? 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

There's a long discussion on Pistonheads at http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.a...&mid=0 which goes a bit off track but seems to confirm that the tread, although it looks directional, isn't. |
