Morning all. I've owned my first freelander 2 HSE TD4 for a little over two months now.I'm very happy with it. Just a couple niggles so far.First one being the auto head lights. Mine are on when the sun shines,and off when they should be on.Is this a simple fix? ie reprograming something,or getting the censor changed.I believe its just behind the rear view mirror. Any tips would be very much appreciated.
Next question is regarding a barely audible rumble noise coming from what appears to be the passenger side rear wheel.In the past i would have said wheel bearing,but i've never owned a 4x4 before and wondererd if it might be the dif.
Once again your tips would be appreciated.

The auto headlights on mine seem over cautious, ie when in doubt it puts them on. That said they don't come on in fog, which is quite bright so confuses the light dependant sensor behind the mirror.

There have been a number of wheel bearing failures.
There is a technical bulletin about rear diff pinion bearing failures - then again it could be the Haldex coupling that is bolted direct to the rear diff. A search should give you the heads up on what to look for.

The earlier cars could be more prone (07 0 as there was a design change a couple of years in, when the Haldex version was changed. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Auto headlights can be particularly sensitive to sunlight, particularly at this time of year when the sun is low in the sky. Also the sensor can be slow to react to dull light. There is no adjustment that I'm aware of but it is worth checking the sensor is clear of dead flies, bugs etc.
There is always the manual override switch for cases when you want the lights on and the car doesn't or vice versa.
