The auto headlights on mine seem over cautious, ie when in doubt it puts them on. That said they don't come on in fog, which is quite bright so confuses the light dependant sensor behind the mirror.

Auto headlights can be particularly sensitive to sunlight, particularly at this time of year when the sun is low in the sky. Also the sensor can be slow to react to dull light. There is no adjustment that I'm aware of but it is worth checking the sensor is clear of dead flies, bugs etc.

Thanks for that Andy. Its actualy rather lazy to expect the lights to come on automaticaly. Its just that i bought top of the range,and i like things to work as they are desighned too. my freelander is an 07 Stornoway grey HSE with full cream leather |
