The deeper, gloopier bits, while navigable in a Freelander, eat the various external bearings on, well, just about everything. 2 D3s and a Puma 90 I've owned have all suffered bearing failures from the incredibly abrasive mud soup found in the holes on the plain in wet weather. My current D3 is in need of its 3rd A/c compressor pulley bearing in as many years, all due to jaunts on the plain.

I never wade deep in that mud up there for same reasons! Plenty of room to go round as you know
