2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Barolo Black
high mileage advice

Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2008 auto TD GS Freelander with 98000 miles on it.
It priced accordingly, ex company car with a very good service record. I'd be keeping it for 5 years.
Anything to be concerned about?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice

George

Give it an hour or two and you will have a list as long as your arm. My advice is - if it drives right, sounds right, feels right, has a FSH, everything works, is priced right, has a full MOT and a warranty that will give you some confidence then have it. If not walk away.

Thanks Ben, its a private sale so no warranty. I had a 530d 5 series that went up to 150k no problem. Be good to hear from owners of TD4's with high miles if they cost a lot to run. We love them but never owned one. Obviously the old rep sticks a bit. My impression is the FL2 is ok. Wife due in january so going for 58 because the safety is reported as pretty good

Just remember to budget for things that might go wrong. Landrovers are not cheap to run; there are those that say Landrover owners need deep pockets. That's a bit strong IMO; neverthless mine has cost me a few bob at the dealer, but i was prepared for it. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
