Hi,

I have a freelander 2009 SE and wondering if fitted with sound system for 6 cd as it looks like on the picture in user manual, but when try press cd button as advised in user manual to load all 6cd then nothing is happening, always load only 1cd.

Any advise please and sorry for maybe stupid question as I am new owner

Hi nvkjsf I've got the SE which has the 6 cd sound system 2007.
When you turn the system on it will say in the small screen 6CD and onces on in the top right hand side of the screen it has 6 numbers for each cd and each number will go darker for each cd inserted.

Had 07 SE which had 6 disk CD. Used to load them in by pressing 2 then adding next CD after it had chnaged slot, then 3 etc... Could eject them all by pressing th e eject button for a few seconds. There was a quick load way, but I could never remember it.

If you have a Premium Audio system with 5 CDs on the Information Screen you should see 6 circles in the top right of the screen which will show you which if any slots have CD's inserted.

Is the 6 CD system the same as the premium system as fitted to the HSE model?

I have investigated a bit more, downloaded MY2009 price list (as my car was build 11/2008, but it is 2009 model) and found that SE for German market was standard fitted with the same looking premium sound system like HSE, but 1CD only and 6CD was to be paid extra as an option, same as phone connection where I have phone symbol button there, but not functional..

Gareth and Hinchy, do you know if the 5 disc system in your '07 SEs had the same premium speaker setup as the HSE model?

I am thinking about changing my "S" for an SE as the stereo in mine is a bit disappointing. I am not bothered about how many discs it takes as usually play from ipod, but the sound could do with a bit more power, especially at lower end. (I've been spoilt by the very good system in my Discovery 3, which has 2 subwoofers!)

SE stereo is higher spec than the one in the S and is similar to the one in the XS MY11-12.
On my MY11 XS it doesn't say it's a premium stereo as I believe it does on the HSE of the same vintage but it does have DAB and 6 CD changer.
I find the stereo in my XS is perfectly adequate for my needs and not that different in sound quality to the stereo system fitted to the 2012 SD4 HSE at work.
