Is the Evoque really a 4x4 ? , Feels like a car when your sat inside , miles more room in a FL2

That was the outstanding impression. It felt truly weird to be travelling in something so up-market car-like in conditions that were the province of "real" 4*4s. As if it really shouldn't belong there but was perfectly capable nonetheless.

I can definitely see the appeal of the convertible version - getting rid of all that ugly "coupe" bodywork improves the looks of the whole thing immeasurably. Driving off-road in a convertible would be even more weird but, I reckon, quite outstanding. Wouldn't fancy it on steep sideslopes though Shocked Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Wife went to dealer to buy an Evoque last December, test drove it and a FL2 then bought a Sport LE. Oh how I love my wife Wink

Evoque drove too much like a car, bit like the X1 urgh!

It will probably have pop up roll over protection in the event of it turning over and of course with it being a soft top would make it so easy to hose out after off-roading.
Driving around in it must seem a bit like being 1n one of those baths with a door on the side, always amazes me how the water doesnt run out when you get in and out.
