Tyres

Hi all

Need to buy new tyres, been recommended by Apache to go for General Grabber AT's.. Think these are 255/60R18's... Any other makes worth looking at?

Where do you buy your tyres from?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Are you in warranty? I want to get these but my dealer says it would invalidate the warranty for anything that the wheels are connected to.

AJS Tyres were excellent when I got GG ATs for my FL1.

really,

I have AT's 255 55 18, and Harwoods tonbridge dont seem to mind,
mine is always in for warranty work - bl00dy piece of cr@p

I have had the tyres for a few weeks now, and dont rate them
Vredestien Wintracs are far better in the wet

Trouble is that size isn't on the list in the handbook although if you search around the forum no one appears to have had any issues. As it's not on the list then LR don't approve.

When I spoke to the guy at my dealers he said it would invalidate the warranty - drivetrain, gearbox etc.

However he did say that people tend to take off their oversize wheels/tyres when they come in for warranty work and put them back on afterwards!

Always best to keep the right size on your vehicles then you will have no problem with the dealers or insurance companies if you had a problem.

We have fitted spare wheel and tyre sets up for customers more so with 16" wheels...... i.e. 225/75x16 or 235/70x16.

18" wheels as you know should be 235/60x18, the General AT will be available first quarter of next year in this size, you have other choices but not AT tyres, Hankook RA23 is a good All Season option and General and Vredestein do winter options.

Only to happy to help but please call as it's quicker for me. Thumbs Up Andy.

That's good news as far as I'm concerned, my Scorpions will be ready for changing about then! Been looking for something I can use all year round with the occasional fun day included without having to change rims. Thumbs Up

Ditto here - just hope I can make my scorpions last a few more months.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere on the forum but can you swap the front and backs? That would make mine last a bit longer and hopefully one of the first to get an order in for the 235 GG AT.
