United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

Yay - I'm back! What a trip... very nice people, really good company. And I'm bushed!!!!

I heard back from them yesterday and it seems they want me to start in August... straight from finishing my old job. We managed to agree I need a week off first - not had a moment to ourselves really since the start of all this redundancy malarky.

Anyway, happy times. I had a great time even though they grilled me from 10:00 to 17:45 including lunch (with more questionings). I asked them for a beer recommendation and ended drinking "Fat Yak" - one of those things you have to do with a name like that!

As for the usual Australian stereotypes I managed to ignore them - until coming back. I sat next to a guy who introduced himself as "Bruce"... I refrained from asking if his wife was "Sheilagh" Rolling with laughter

Thanks for all your support guys. Freelander 1 TD4 HSE - gone, 2 weeks after the Cat.Converter!

Well, 6 weeks after starting my new job we're due to return home on Friday. What an experience. My wife doesn't want to come home!

The best bit of all is to experience first hand what wonderful people the Australians are. I was shocked. So warm and friendly, never too busy to talk or help (and I'm not talking my new work colleagues either).

We've had a wonderful time and I truly am reluctant to come back. (Wonder if my car will start)

Just thought you might like to know. Redundancy at 58 years old is a scarey thing... didn't like it and I don't mind admitting it.

If you get the chance to go to Australia? Don't think twice... it's an amazing place, populated by an amaizng people! Freelander 1 TD4 HSE - gone, 2 weeks after the Cat.Converter!

Tomorrow I'm off to Melbourne for the final decider, which amounts to "let's see if he fits in" type meeting/interview.

Seems a long way to go but they're paying! Wish me luck.
