Noticed that the black 'paint' on the rear exhaust box (that is horizontal under tailgate )is coming off

Mine is doing the same, box in stainless steel so the paint is purely cosmetic.

Same for me too. 6 months old and noticed a few days ago. I can live with it and over spray periodically, but it seems a bit naff? |

are you sure the box is stainless as mine does show some signs of rust near the seam and my paint is also comming off rainy-city

The exhaust should be stainless steel, the paint on the box is pretty crap.

Try an aerosol barbeque paint. Prices range from around £4 to £10. Some motorcycle restorers use it on the cylinders of aircooled bikes & report good results.
