Got my 56 reg FL2 last week already been back to the garage twice and keep getting these messages.

"Transmission problem reduced traction"

"Terrain Response Faulty"

Are they normal and can they be fixed?

I have heard something about the rear diff having issues but just wanted to know how serious this is and will it plague me for life!!

This is my first Landy and everyone keeps telling me to expect this kind of issue.

What does everyone think?

I have been getting simular messages

Mine was "HDC Faulty" then "HDC Switched off"

Dealer has had a look, and no faults where registered, so the usual "unable to do anything" line

Over on Disco3 they have had chats about this, and it seems to be down to the battery been low, due to short journeys etc.

I personally think mine is due to the car freezing up due to the cold weather as the 3 times it has done it, its been cold enough for the glow plugs to kick in Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

We had the "Transmission problem reduced traction" message. Normally popped up when cruising in 6th. The dealer patched the software and we haven't had a murmur since. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Dealer replaced a sensor in the rear diff which didnt work, now ordered a solinoid (dont know what it is or how you spell it) and will let you know.

Seriously concidering giving the car back as it has now been three weeks and I heard you get 30 days to exchange.

What do you all think? Should I chop it or stick with it.

Solenoid-coil of copper wire surrounding a magnet, when electrical current applied to coil magnet moves due to polarity rejection thus making it a remote controlled switch. Sorry cannot help on other question but I guess it deppends on gut feel about dealer. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit
