We had the "Transmission problem reduced traction" message. Normally popped up when cruising in 6th. The dealer patched the software and we haven't had a murmur since. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good! |

Dealer replaced a sensor in the rear diff which didnt work, now ordered a solinoid (dont know what it is or how you spell it) and will let you know.

Solenoid-coil of copper wire surrounding a magnet, when electrical current applied to coil magnet moves due to polarity rejection thus making it a remote controlled switch. Sorry cannot help on other question but I guess it deppends on gut feel about dealer. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit |
