2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Stornoway Grey

Thanks Strathearn Eng. Had the Delphis fitted and they are fine, no different to the genuine LR ones. The garage I used only fits Delphi as they never have a problem with them. At half the price fitted of the genuine LR ones it was a no brainer in the end as I have already got Delphi discs and pads on my other car.

Brake pad OEM suppliers

I need to buy front and rear pads for my 2010GS
I guess LR buy ready built hubs/brakes from Ford who in turn have them made at their sub supplier who buys pads from another manufacturer.
So official LR pads will include everyone's mark up%
There are many retail names on pads on that well known auction site
SO can anybody confirm who are the actual OEM makers / suppliers to LR?
Forum members mention that the FL is a heavy car and must have proper brakes. 2010GS Auto ex Celeb, Santorini Black, 2011 facelift , spoiler, spats, mudflaps, LED footwell lamps, Witter detach,

brake pads supplier

Thanks for the reply
Ive just ordered TRW pads (Lucas?) fronts GDB1683 and rears GDB1708 from misterauto.co.uk for £66 inc postage, keep fingers crossed.
If you go on their web site you can just put your registration reg in for easy searching.

Update
BEWARE DONT BUY FROM Mister-Auto.co.uk
I needed rear pads but ordered on paypal front and rear; I then get a confirmation that they cannot supply rears and are posting the fronts only and chargeing me postage!
I rang them and got a call centre in a far away country and a foreign speaker struggling with English.
THEY DONT HAVE A WAY TO CANCEL so i'm stuffed in getting parts which I really didnt need yet. I cannot find a way to stop the payment on Paypal either!
Update 2
Their web site still shows them as being on stock - I feel that they are lying

The last set of LR front pads I bought a few months ago were made in Russia !!!!!

It is an easy job to replace the pads yourself and will save you a lot of money.

Be careful, I fitted Mintex front pads from Halfords on a Sunday to the old FL1 auto, the following Wednesday they failed, boiling the brake fluid, went through a junction with smoke pouring from the brakes.

I was lucky I didn't hit anything

I replaced them with genuine parts and never had a problem with them again.

Not a poke at Mintex per say, as I know they used to make excellent quality products in days gone bye. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I booked my car in today to a local indie for a service. I was talking brakes to the garage owner (LR dealer trained 20+ years experiance) and mentioned Mintex pads. He said they were not very good in his opinion. He said he would go for Pagit or TWR from his own experiance. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

TRW Changan

My TRW front pads have arrived and say Changan Ford. Google search says Changan is a Chinese State owned company.
I'm now just wondering if these are really LR OEM parts or copy pattern parts. Anybody out there have any comments please?
Gosh they weigh a tonne, if I fit these the suspension will go down!
I look forward to some replies

As Mojo said, the LR Genuine ones are TRW with Galfer friction material. Therefore, if you have just bought TRW ones then they are not Genuine. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green
