Go on buy a GS -- and every time you look at an HSE think "why oh why did I skimp".

Sorry lads (an lasses) but the toys make the car a more pleasurable place to be, and therefore the journey nicer.

Reading some of the posts on here, you would think that Freelanders are very fragile motors. While you wouldn't want one that had been lugging a heavy trailer with a mini digger on board, any caravan in the 85% range, is pulled with ease. On journeys along motorways, ours only increases fuel consumption by 2--3 mpg, with a caravan on. I find the stereo in our GS is perfectly adequate, can't see any point in upgrading it.

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Been sat quietly watching this string.

I've gone for a GS for my wife. It's got an Alpine (standard fit?) stereo, read park sensors, auto wipers/lights, elec fold mirrirs, 150ps diesel and is everything we realistically need. It's got 17" 6-spoke alloys which I prefer the look of and the tyres choices are plentiful and reasonable. All the other stuff is very nice, but I was not interested in forking out more for stuff I don't want/need. 80% of Freelanders sold are apparently GS spec'.
My stereo is fine - have it on quietly in the background, it's DAB and bluetooths to the phone.

Sometimes you can get seduced into thinking a car is useless without every option fitted, but all that does is make the dealer/manufacturer richer Wink

But that's just my opinion and certainly others will think I'm just sour because I haven't a 'better' car - I'll live with that.
Harvey

Mine's a GS but I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference when I look at an HSE They're all beautiful.
