[quote= I will have to pay excess mileage charges if I exceed the agreed amount but I am well within that at the moment (10k per year).

Bought 3 Freelanders using Landrover Freedom - it has been really straight forward each time.

Helps a lot thanks. So deposit is trade in value minus GMFV. Which would look something like Trade in = £13000 GMFV = £7500 Therefore deposit = £5500 Can probably guess the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway... Can those who have bought previously on Freedom (and gone to a second LR vehicle) give feedback on what the LR dealers are like with trade-in valuations when renewing? |

In my experience with 4 cars now from LR, they give on average between £4k to £7k above GMFV. ______________________

When I bought my last Freelander in 2009 the GMFV was set quite low - seems to have been as a result of the financial issues in the world and so the finance company behind the loan had become somewhat nervous about future value of the car and so were protecting themselves.

It's a while ago but I bought an S-Reg Freelander under this scheme or its BMW equivalent. At the end of the three years it wasn't worth paying the final sum (depreciation was higher than expected) so I took it back to the dealer, who seemed very surprised. The leasing company just dumped it in a field for a couple of years, lost all the paperwork and eventually sold it on as "low mileage" (3 years at 14000 plus 2 years at zero). Only downside was that I slightly exceeded the mileage and had to pay a small amount, and that I had to repair all the dents in order to give it back in good condition! |

Phew, now all I need to do is work out where all those errant commas came from. Never tell me the odds. |

But if you can't then shopping round for the lowest rate loan or best GMFV deal is at least a way into ownership. Not everyone has £15k, £20k or whatever K to put on the desk just like that I'm afraid. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ly--gT1RJdk |
