Brake pads

Need front and rear brake pads fitting and refuse to pay LR prices (£363). My local and very reliable independent will fit Delphi pads for £175 all done or genuine LR pads for £250 all in. What would you choose? They fitted Delphis to my other car and I've had no problems.

I had EBC Green Stuff on my old F1 with vented discs and they always pulled up really well.

I bought them from here: -

No affiliation with them but always had good service. Discovery 4 HSE - Aintree Green

Cheers, have read other people say ebc are good. Think I'll go genuine LR.

After completely frying the brake on my FL1, 3 days after fitting new Mintex pads, its genuine pads all the way for me.

Came to stop at a junction and went sailing through with smoke pouring out of the front calipers, luckily nothing coming the other way. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

The snag with all this is that I don't think you will find that LR manufacture their own brake pads but buy them in from suppliers one of which may be Delphi. After trying a number of well known brake part manufacturers I have taken to using Pagid discs and pads. They are a German company who are OE suppliers to some well known German car manufacturers and I have found their products to be well made and reasonably priced. You can get their stuff at :-

Took a look at my brake pads today and they have galfer stamped on them so LR don't make their own. Galfer make motor bike brakes according to their website????!! Delphi it is then as they are 75 notes cheaper.

Delphi were an OEM supplier to BMW for various parts e.g. shocks but, to my knowledge, not for brake pads. As someone above said, pagid are highly rated and OEM to a lot of companies but were dumped by BMW a few years back !! FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

The calipers are Ford and are used on Galaxy, Mondeo, S max, Volvo V70 at least.
Will try to match the supplier part number when I replace mine.
Through experiance, I know L/R have such parts in L/R packaging sometimes at twice the price. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I've used Pagid (O.E quality). Fitted front discs & pads on my Astra, very pleased with quality. Pads front & back around £65 + fitting for FL 2. I'd be happy to use them on my FR2. Would prob change discs too, when I chnge mine.
Bought them from this company:-
