It is not a mistake by your bank Alex as they have been a victim of theft by dint of you presenting them with a stolen/forged cheque which they have no way of verifying. They will put the cheque through the system as normal and will come back cleared. The first they will know about it is when the owner of the stolen funds notices it and demands redress from their bank. Their bank will get the money back from your bank who in turn will quite understandably seek redress from you. Your option is to get the car back from the buyer who of course has disappeared over the horizon! John 07 HSE Narvick Black Land Rover Series One Triumph Rocket 111 (sadly gone!) |

Usually it considered that a check will be cleared after about 4 to 6 working days BUT the funds will not be released into your account for some time after that if tbey are still waiting for funds to be transfered from the other bank.

Thanks for all your advice, I'm glad I asked, and now much wiser. He did sound dodgy, I've never had a person not coming around to inspecting the car he/ she is intending to buy. |

Whilst we're on the subject, don't take PayPal for a car sale, since you can't provide a proof of delivery for the car and PayPal will reverse the transaction when the scammer opens a dispute. Indeed do not take PayPal for anything where the buyer collects.

Thats a narrow minded view that could only of come from a self centered person who thinks they are better than every one else.To mock anyone with any form of disability is in poor taste and the lowest of low.

I am one for the promotion and protection of the English language. Not an easy task as it's a fluid object that is subject to constant change. It is appropriate not to scorn the colonials for their cultural amendments to the foundation lexicon and its spelling, however, it is equally important that the English do their utmost to ensure that they at least, spell their native language correctly.
