You could save a lot of elbow grease (and money ) if you seal the wheels after you clean them.

Buy a cheap pressure washer(Bosch £39 on ebay) and blast the wheels weekly-even if you don't wash the car at the same time.It will save you a fortune in expensive wheel cleaners and eventually pay for itself! Also a lot of these cleaners are acid based and can ruin the paint if left on too long. You can also clean the back of the wheels with the pressure washer without removing them. Well, my first post as I get my FL2 HSE (Stornoway Grey) next week. I have had many sports cars over the years and have just sold my Porsche Cayman S due to a lifestyle change to get the FL2 - check out my website www.cbhughes.com and click on TTC546/Life of TTC546.

Had the wheels on both my Freelander 1 and 2 treated when new with Metalmate. This makes cleaning the wheels very easy: all the brake dust, etc. washes off with a sponge and wheel brush. You get a couple of bottles to reapply to the wheels every year or so although I've never done this and still found the wheels very easy to clean. Cost me £30 to have four wheels done at Strastone in Bury. |
